Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer has become a surprise target for Sam Allardyce’s Everton in the winter transfer window.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, the 24-year-old is looking for more first-team minutes ahead of next year’s World Cup and will have to look elsewhere after his stuttering start to life in Catalonia.
The Spain international has only made nine starts since making his £26million move from Valencia to Barcelona in 2016.
During his two seasons with the Catalan club, Alcacer has scored 13 goals and set up his team-mates six times but has struggled to make a meaningful impact.
However, the Toffees are reportedly looking a striker to compete with Sandro Ramirez and believe Alcacer can help them add firepower upfront.
Compatriot Ramirez has also found life tough at his new club after making a £5.2million move from Malaga earlier this summer.
The striker has only scored twice for the Merseyside club and has been linked with a move back to La Liga.
Don Balon have also reported that Barcelona are looking to pay approximately £40million for Milan’s Andre Silva as Alcacer’s replacement if he were to leave.
