The Swansea City defender would be a good signing for Everton, according to Tony Cottee.
Tony Cottee suggested Swans centre-back Alfie Mawson as an ideal signing for the Toffees this month, when writing a column for Sporting Bet.
Everton are in the midst of a mini-resurgence under Sam Allardyce, but their are still gaping holes in the Everton squad that need filling.
The Blues have one of the oldest back-lines in the Premier League, and an injection of both youth and quality in the central defensive department will be vital for them going forward.
Cottee, who scored 99 goals for Everton, suggested that his former club go out and sign Swansea’s Alfie Mawson as a long-term replacement for Phil Jagielka, when writing his regular column for Sporting Bet:
“I think Everton badly need a new central defender to replace Jagielka and Williams and to build a relationship with Michael Keane. I think Alfie Mawson could be a good signing for Everton”
